Multifaceted urban resort and hotel

THE CHALLENGE

A valued client had an issue whereby they were using real copper on a contract, but their supply lines were making it a challenge to get hold of. They were working on this prestigious project and had fast approaching deadlines to meet.

They came to Bradleys to see if we were able to help to not only provide a finish, but also to match what they were currently using. This was also needed on various substrates and fabricated items and had to be within time and budget.

THE SOLUTION

We requested a section of the actual material that was to be matched to and quickly ascertained that the best option would be to use a finish from our Metalite Range.

Metalite is the application of real metals such as copper, bronze, brass etc. onto the substrate, which can be mild steel, aluminium or stainless steel. In this case we used a mixture of copper and bronze to create a dark ‘Old Penny Bronze’. This was then hand finished, patinated and waxed accordingly.

To assist in the time and budget element we found that it could work to do a dual finish. This means that we used a powder coat which was very similar in colour for the less obvious areas and then continued with the Real Metalite Bronze finish to the front faces.
