Solar Trees
THE CHALLENGE
The main challenges on this project were the logistics and handling of very large steel trees.
It was important for them to be fabricated in as fewer pieces as possible and this resulted in some very large sections to be processed in our highly durable, long lasting system with a decorative finish.
THE SOLUTION
Along with visits and working closely with the fabricator, a mutual agreement was found whereby the trunk and branches could actually be made as one piece. Followed by the large supporting grid.
Bradleys used their renown Qualizinc process for excellent durability and corrosion protection followed by the Oxide process to create an interesting yet beautiful combination of nature and rust.
THE DETAIL
Global company spearheading scientific tools, the Solar Trees at Promega’s car park made an excellent contribution to their UK headquarters in Southampton.
Also, what an eye opening product in today’s drive for harnessing energy. The tree’s solar panels, soak up the sunshine and a hatch in the trunk allows for electric cars to plug in and recharge throughout the day.
