Lillie Square
THE CHALLENGE
To provide a long-life quality coating on the garden railings in a finish that has a sophisticated air about it, suited to the high-profile residential Lillie Square development.
The client wanted genuine bronze finish railings, however this wasn’t possible due to their budget restraints and we had to come up with a suitable alternative, within budget, which met their aspirations.
THE SOLUTION
Bradleys coated the railings in a thermal pure zinc coating to provide a strong anti-corrosion barrier to every surface, including the corners within the design. This barrier is critical to protect the metalwork against the weather and public wear.
This was followed by a carefully selected bronze effect coating, a close alternative to genuine bronze, complementing the stone facade on the Columbia Garden blocks and embodying the quality and character of the development.
THE DETAIL
The Lillie Square site, where Chelsea, Kensington and Fulham meet, was previously a car park for the Earls Court exhibition centre and is being transformed in phases to provide over 800 high-profile residential apartments, townhouses and penthouses.
The character of the Lillie Square development acknowledges and echoes the Georgian and Victorian architecture in the surrounding area.
The garden railings that Bradleys coated encompass attractive landscaped gardens at Lillie Square, inspired by London’s traditional garden squares.
