8 Salisbury Square

8 Salisbury Square

THE CHALLENGE

To finish a very large staircase in almost fully fabricated form involved several challenges. The stringers and treads were all welded together creating a very large structure for handling and finishing.
The need of collaborative careful handling was indeed one of the challenges especially as the underside of the treads also had to be done as well as the handrail and a balustrade section.

THE SOLUTION

Bradleys rose to the challenge and were able to make some special jigs for manoeuvrability and all areas requiring the antique brass were finished with the same degree of expertise.

THE DETAIL

8 Salisbury Square was an outdated 1980’s block which went for a refurbishment in 2017.
Based in the highly sought after area of Holborn for prime office, the building was opened up and simplified to allow flexible working styles. Part of this involved the inclusion of a feature staircase with matching balustrades in other areas too.
