Private Residence, Swiss Cottage
THE CHALLENGE
To provide a quality bespoke coating to work with the interior and exterior designs for a luxurious private villa. The internal staircase needed to have aged brass spindles, but also had to meet structural loadings and with brass being inherently soft, this couldn’t work.
THE SOLUTION
Bradleys were able to apply real Brass to the mild steel staircase spindles which were then patinated to the design and finished with a wax.
THE DETAIL
Bradleys coated work on a luxury Georgian-style villa in Swiss Cottage, near Primrose Hill and Regent’s Park. Inside, a striking stone spiral staircase with handcrafted bronze handrails and spindles rises through the atrium. The deep basement opens to a private, light-filled patio, connected by a modern staircase with bronze-coated metalwork and glass balustrades. Bradleys also applied genuine bronze to the atrium wall panels, creating a dynamic, high-end finish that shifts with the light.
